General Description of Job

Advantage Energy Partners, one of the fastest growing retail natural gas and electricity consultants in the Northeast is looking for high-energy, entrepreneurial minded, hunters to join our fast-paced, customer-focused organization as a Senior Energy Advisor.

The qualified candidate for the Senior Energy Advisor role will further accelerate the company’s growth by regularly meeting and exceeding clearly defined sales objectives while retaining existing clients as a matter of course.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter and a results-driven individual. He or she must demonstrate integrity as a core value and must be a team player in all instances.

The position will largely consist of outside field sales with back office support provided from our Cranberry Twp, PA and/or North Canton, OH offices.

Principal Accountabilities

Plan, generate and execute business development activities across assigned territory.

Maintain and grow existing customer base.

Develop, implement and execute a sales strategy that results in meeting and exceeding revenue objectives in energy sales and services.

Develop a strong understanding of our value proposition in order to effectively answer current and prospective customer questions about our products and services.

Research and exhaust sales leads until sales success is achieved.

Prepare and present focused, organized proposals for clients with clear agendas and sharp, crisp visuals to ensure meeting predictability and control meeting outcomes.

Analyze customer energy and facility data to understand an organization’s energy procurement and energy management needs.

Provide the leadership team with customer insights in order to facilitate ideas on how to continuously improve product offerings and market strategies.


Bachelor’s degree desired.

At least four years of experience in energy commodity sales and affiliated energy advisory services required.

Verifiable track record of sales success in the Energy Industry – meeting and exceeding sales quotas, successful growth of personal book of business.

Transferable existing book of business highly desired.

Must communicate effectively and in a professional manner, both written and verbally, with all level of employees and clients. Demonstrate the ability to provide superior service to all internal and external customers. Demonstrate the ability to develop and provide presentations to small groups.

Must be able to effectively use a PC and software programs, specifically Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills a plus.
